NCCCR&R Advisory Committee Minutes July 18, 2006
The NCCCR&R Advisory Committee met at the Rural Communities Resource Center in Yuma on July 18, 2006. Unfortunately there were only four members present so we did not have a quorum. Those in attendance were Patricia Brewster-Willeke, Sheila Anzlovar, Beverly Robertson, Linda Clark, Barbara Page, and Ann McConnell.
Sheila did go over the items on agenda.
MEMBERSHIP Three new members are tentatively on board to join the advisory committee. Lisa Crawford from Lincoln County, Cindy Ferree also from Lincoln County, and Cheryl Brander from Yuma County. Pat Sandoval from Kit Carson County has also expressed interest in being on the Advisory board. Sheila also asked that we as advisory board members to maybe think of parents for prospective members.
FUNDING/GRANTS REPORT Sheila passed out packets that contained information on funding reports, funding mechanism from Qualistar, partner grant fact sheets from Qualistar, and total Qualistar-CCR&R funding allocations for fiscal year 06-07. She also included a letter from Bryan Schultz, Director of QA with Qualistar. The letter was very positive. Attached with the letter was the Child Care Development Fund Contract between Qualistar and Rural Communities Resource Center.
UPDATE ON CCRR With Melinda leaving Sheila will be doing the referral specialist work. Kathy Reinhart has been hired for 20 hours per week in Logan County. They are going to relocate that office so there is no current phone number in place for her. Sheila also asked the board to give her until January 2007 to work on the Strategic Planning. She would also like the board to assist her with the Strategic Planning via the phone conference early the 1st quarter of 2007. The Strategic Plan has to be in place by July 1, 2007.
SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS MARKETING – It was suggested that posters regarding CCR&R be placed around towns. Bev was going to check if she could make copies in Yuma County. Sheila will check with referral specialist in each county to see how many posters each county would need. CONFERENCE – Centennial Mental Health would like a spot at the Fall Conference. An October date is being looked at.
Patricia mentioned that she has a Second Hand Smoke training available that is really good. Sheila let us all know that there is a chat room available on the website.
No date was set for the next meeting. Sheila will email everyone and throw some dates out there for us to choose one.
Respectfully Submitted, Ann M. McConnell
